President: Gordon K. Hipperson, P.Eng.
Mr. Hipperson, a Civil Engineering Graduate from the University of Saskatchewan, formed Hipperson Construction in October of 1996, after having spent 12 years with another major Canadian construction company. Mr. Hipperson's solid project management, estimating, safety and quality control skills contribute to the company's ability to produce consistent on-budget and on-schedule results. His vast project management and estimating experience ranges from small project status to multi-million dollar projects in all types of construction: civil, commercial and multi unit residential.
Mr. Hipperson is an active member of the Regina Construction Association, Merit Contractors Association, the Saskatchewan Association of Professional Engineers and the Building Operators and Manager's Association (BOMA).
On Site Team:
Our Project Superintendents are all Journeyman Carpenters each with several years of experience in supervising large industrial and commercial projects. All Hipperson Construction Superintendents have successfully completed Supervisory training provided through Merit Contractors Association or through the Gold Seal training program.
Our Labor Force consists of Carpenter Apprentices at varying levels and many skilled laborers with experience in concrete, steel erection and other valuable construction methods. Sub-trade contractors contracted by Hipperson Construction are pre-qualified and understand the need and added value of working as a team with the owner and architectural/engineering representatives.
Safety Management:
Significant commitment to the ongoing development of our company's Safety Management program requires that our employees complete classroom and 'on the job' training on a continual basis. Hipperson Construction is participating with the services offered by the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association to maintain its Certificate of Recognition (COR) status for our company's Safety Management program. As a minimum training requirement, all employees are required to successfully complete the CSTS program.
Career Development:
Hipperson Construction is a member of the Merit Contractors Association.
Merit Contractors Association Inc. is the only open shop association in Saskatchewan. The Association focuses on the human resource needs of contractors with a special emphasis on benefit plans, retirement programs, tuition refund programs and placement of field construction workers. For more information on their programs and services, please visit www.meritcontractors.sk.ca.
Hipperson Construction works with the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies and the Construction Career Development Project to enable aboriginal trades people to indenture as apprentices in construction trades. The Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission recognized the importance of supporting the creation of this joint training committee.
